Sunrise and Sunset Times in Canada

Pick a province or one of the largest cities below. Every place has today's sunrise and sunset, twilight, golden hour, moonrise and a full-year calendar in its own local time.

Canada stretches from about 42°N on Lake Erie to beyond 80°N in the Arctic Archipelago, and from the Atlantic to the Pacific. It uses six time zones, including Newfoundland Time, which is offset by a half hour. In 2026, daylight saving time runs from 8 March to 1 November across most of the country.

There are notable exceptions. Most of Saskatchewan stays on Central Standard Time all year, and Yukon has used year-round UTC−7 since 2020, so its clocks no longer change. In the far north, communities in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories experience the midnight sun in summer and weeks without sunrise in winter; Resolute and Grise Fiord in Nunavut are among the northernmost towns in the world.
