Sunrise and Sunset Times in United States

Pick a state or one of the largest cities below. Every place has today's sunrise and sunset, twilight, golden hour, moonrise and a full-year calendar in its own local time.

The United States spans more than 50 degrees of latitude, from Hawaii near 19°N to Utqiagvik, Alaska, above 71°N, so daylight varies more here than in almost any other country. In Hawaii day length changes by less than three hours over the year. In Utqiagvik the sun stays above the horizon for weeks around the June solstice and does not rise for about two months in midwinter, while in Fairbanks summer sunsets can fall after midnight.

The country uses six main time zones: Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaska and Hawaii-Aleutian. In 2026, daylight saving time runs from 8 March to 1 November. Hawaii and most of Arizona stay on standard time all year, although the Navajo Nation in Arizona does observe daylight saving. Because cities sit at different points within wide time zones, sunrise and sunset can differ by an hour or more between places that share the same clock time.
